(Photo: Stacy Revere/Getty Images) We now know that when Florida State faces Pittsburgh in its season opener on Labor Day night, the man taking the first snap for the Seminoles will be redshirt freshman Jameis Winston. On Friday, Winston was named the starting quarterback for the upcoming season beating out redshirt sophomore Jacob Coker. Winston became the favorite to win the job after a stellar 12-for-15 performance with 205 yards passing and two touchdowns in Florida State’s spring game. The battle for the job became a two-man race after redshirt junior and son of offensive line coach Rick Trickett, Clint Trickett, transferred to West Virginia following the spring practice. Both Winston and Coker played well in the FSU spring game, both are dual-threat quarterbacks and both happen to be from Alabama, but only one could be the team’s starter and that guy was Winston.
