Florida’s Best Player Isn’t Who You Think It Is

Miller’s experience makes him the best player on the Gators’ roster. Anthony Richardson is incredibly talented, but he is only a sophomore. He does not mentally process the game as quickly as more experienced players such as Ventrell Miller.

In the same way Richardson runs the offense, Ventrell Miller is the quarterback of the defense. He calls out all the signals on defense, gets everybody lined up in the correct spot, and adjusts the defense when the coaching staff calls a defensive audible.

Staying in school has indeed allowed Miller to mentally master the Florida defensive scheme, and it showed in week one. Miller had nine total tackles and popped off the screen. The fifth-year senior was all over the field.

He has excellent instincts. He is always around the football. Miller has an excellent motor and always gives full effort. He leads the defense by example. Ventrell miller is the perfect leader for the Gator’s defense.

This offseason Miller said that this is a “revenge year” for him. And that is indeed how he played in week one. He is ranked as the number 14 linebacker in the country and is poised for a huge season. If he continues to play the way he did in week one, his draft stock will continue to rise and he will make himself some money by moving up the draft boards.
