Harold Barnwell, the head coach at Carol City High School in Opa Locka, (FL) has confirmed that 2012 signee Brandon Snell has decommitted from Louisville. The 5-11 175-pound wide-receiver is one of the few 2012 Louisville signees that has yet to reported to campus. According to coach Barnell, Snell had academically qualified and graduated from school, but decided Louisville wasn’t the best place for him. He had verbally committed to Louisville in May of 2011, which is fairly early in the recruiting process for a prospect like Snell. After giving his verbal pledge to Charlie Strong, Snell received offers from Kentucky, Cincinnati, Rutgers, and Illinois. However, he maintained his commitment to Louisville was firm. It’s unclear where Snell will go from here. Losing Snell won’t hurt the Cards a whole lot, considering the wide receiver position has quite a bit of talent at this point. However, I honestly thought Snell was one of the biggest sleepers for Charlie Strong’s 2012 class.
