Former Georgia star QB irked that Bulldogs keep losing five-star talent
Joshua L. Jones / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Georgia Bulldogs have seen a small pool of talent leaving the program in the past couple of weeks. Many former five-star recruits have decided to enter the transfer portal and find new programs. For some Georgia fans, this is highly concerning. Former star quarterback Aaron Murray called out the program over all the talent that is leaving.

Former Georgia Bulldogs Star QB Aaron Murray Calls Out Program

17 Georgia players are in the transfer portal. Many of them are underclassmen who are hoping to find new playing opportunities at other programs. In a talent-rich program like Georgia, playing opportunities for underclassmen are limited. Murray thinks players are scared of the competition. “Idk if I have seen this many 5 stars leave a program before. What is the world is happening in Athens? These top recruits not liking all the competition?” Murray wrote on social media. Murray is clearly not a fan of the new college football landscape.

Get Used To It

This is how it is going to be from now on. Underclassmen will look for new opportunities if they do not think they can play right away. Players can go to a smaller program and play right away and then transfer to a larger program later in their college career. Like it or not, this is how things are going to be. I don’t think that players are scared of competition. They simply want a guaranteed opportunity to play. Play on the field can lead to NIL opportunities. Sitting on the bench does not.

The Georgia Bulldogs will have to figure out the new landscape just like any other team. Will we see this affect the top programs?
