You remember Mike Sanford, right? He is the former Louisville offensive coordinator who was fired just four games into the 2011 season. FootballScoop.com is reporting that Sanford has been hired by Indiana State to be their new head coach. Sanford has been at Utah State since leaving Louisville. Sanford was the head coach at UNLV from 2005-09, compiling a 16-43 record. While at UNLV he once lost a game to Iowa State and refused to leave the field. There were rumors that a physical altercation between Charlie Strong and Sanford is what led to him being fired at Louisville. Strong denied those rumors, but there are some folks who still insist that it happened. The fact that Sanford is still alive today leads me to believe that the rumors are false.
