Former Tennessee Vols offensive lineman Gerald Mincey, who recently announced his commitment to Kentucky, fired back at some negative comments that have been directed his way recently on social media.
He also says he played with a torn MCL this past season.

Played this past season with a torn MCL and was able to help my team win a bowl game with a big smile on my face because I did love being a Yolunteer but shid business is business."
Mincey then quoted his tweet with the date "November 2", which is when Kentucky plays the Vols next fall.

Mincey initially announced in December that he was returning to Tennessee for the 2024 season in a tweet that's since been deleted.
Mincey played 68 snaps in Tennessee's win against Iowa in the Citrus Bowl on New Year's Day. He entered the transfer portal in January thanks to a new rule that allows multiple transfers (Mincey previously transferred from Florida to Tennessee ahead of the 2022 season).
The former Vol started six games at right tackle for Tennessee last season. He was expected to be the full-time right tackle ahead of his transfer. Mincey's departure forced Tennessee to the look the portal for a new right tackle. The Vols are expected to receive a commitment from LSU offensive tackle transfer Zalance Heard, a former five-star recruit who played in all 13 games for the Tigers in 2023 as a true freshman (including one start).
