Robinson Ready to Be a Weapon

Robinson has been a target for the Utes for a while now. Utah extended an official offer back in 2022, in only his freshman year of high school.

According to Robinson, the tie to the university is like no other.

"My interest in Utah has always been very high since they started recruiting me, and they have been a top school for me through out this process and my interest has just grown more for the program," Robinson said.

After having dialogue with the university for so long, Robinson decided it was time to visit the program during their spring game. Robinson said he has always felt a connection to the coaching staff and decided to come to Salt Lake City.

"I felt as if I haven’t gotten to see them as much as I wanted to, and knowing the coaching staff so well, I really wanted to come and see them again," Robinson said.

Robinson said he has personal relationships with many coaches on the Utes staff, specifically wide receivers coach Alvis Whitted. He described the conversations he had with Whitted and defensive backs coach Sharrief Shah as "great" and they spent time catching up.

Robinson said he sees himself as a weapon for the Utah offense.

"I'll definitely fit in the Utes as a playmaker, someone who can do whatever they need, not just limiting myself to receiver but special teams as well and defense if needed," he said.

His personal ties don't stop with coaches. Robinson said he also has a personal relationship with recruiter Reggie Dunn, who he describes as a "Ute legend." He said he spent a lot of time with Dunn during his unofficial visit, and the conversations had were great, which is an amazing sign for Utes fans. The entire visit was positive for both sides, and Robinson said he was able to take an "unofficial visit around the campus," and had the opportunity to interact with current players.

Not only did Robinson say he was impressed with the team during his visit, but the fans caught his attention as well.

"The fans showed great support as always, they are one of my favorite out of them all," Robinson said.

This wasn't his first time visiting Utah, but the weather was much different this time around, according to Robinson.

"It was different than my last time coming, as last time there was a snowstorm that was coming through that me and my brothers didn’t mind at all, but Salt Lake is a beautiful place to be in," he said. "With the facility, upgrades like the locker room just makes it that much better."

When asked specifically about the spring game, Robinson said that QB Isaac Wilson and DB Jelani Davis caught his eye, and "[QB] Cam Rising was fun to watch too."

While the potential of Robinson joining the Utes is exciting, Robinson said he is locked in going into his senior year of high school at San Juan Hills.

"This senior year I want everything, I want to shock everyone, I want to break records and win championships, as that’s my goal for every program I’m at," said Robinson, who indicated he would be making his decision this year.

Scouting Robinson

Undersized to some, Robinson more than makes up for it as a versatile speedster and shifty playmaker. His footwork is great, and has no issues making defenders miss and finding the open field.

Defenders have a hard time tracking him, as he can change direction on a dime. Robinson doesn't fear traffic, and has no issues catching in congested areas. Not only is he fast, elusive and quick thinking, he can run the ball as well.

It's easy to tell Robinson is a hard worker and is dedicated to taking his game to the next level.
