Georgia is bringing back home one of their past football stars to advise young Bulldog student-athletes on how to manage themselves in the NIL space. On Tuesday, it became official that were hiring ex-player Reggie Carter to be the new Athlete Marketing Manager.

As one of the preeminent programs in college football, Georgia wants to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to NIL, as it looks to expand its support in that space. Georgia collaborated with Altius Sports Partners (ASP) and INFLCR to make some changes to its NIL operations.

Per Georgia Athletics, Carter will lead student-athletes to maximize their opportunities at the local, state, and national levels with the new Georgia Bulldogs Exchange in partnership with INFLCR.

“We are excited to welcome Reggie Carter back to the University of Georgia,” J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics Josh Brooks said. “As a Georgia alum, Reggie offers our current student-athletes a unique perspective when it comes to NIL. He is someone who cares deeply about the student-athlete experience at UGA, and we are thrilled to welcome him home.”

Carter will work with NIL Director Tanner Potts and stakeholders to provide guidance to Bulldog student-athletes on how to handle themselves in the NIL space while providing the necessary infrastructure to make the right decisions.

Among Carter’s responsibilities will be providing day-to-day support, education, and training, while collaborating with teams, the Georgia Way network, the Georgia Bulldog Club, Georgia Bulldogs Sports Marketing, and external partners to raise awareness of NIL initiatives at Georgia.

Carter played linebacker for the Bulldogs from 2013 to 2017. For his career, he made 119 tackles (6 and a half) for loss. He also started six games in Georgia’s run to the national championship game in 2017.
