Georgia's Brock Bowers falls to Cowboys in latest NFL mock draft
Jake Crandall / USA TODAY NETWORK

It's the NFL draft, anything can happen.

In A to Z Sports' latest 2024 NFL mock draft, Georgia star tight end Brock Bowers falls out of the top 20 and lands with the Dallas Cowboys at No. 24.

Even A to Z Sports' Cowboys writer, Mauricio Rodriguez, couldn't believe it.

I have no clue how Bowers is available at 24th overall, but in this case, I refuse to let him drop any further. The Cowboys would absolutely take this chance even with Jake Ferguson on the roster. Bowers is a legit threat who can line up as an outside and slot receiver. Dallas is in need of long-term weapons and there’s no way they’d fall past No. 24, - Mauricio Rodriguez

Bowers ending up in the hands of a contender like the Cowboys would be wild.

But it would likely take a miracle or a trade up for him to make it out of the top 15 because any team that doesn't need a quarterback or a pro-ready defender would be crazy to pass him up.

The 6-foot-3, 243-pound Georgia product is possibly the best college football player to ever play tight end as a two-time recipient of the John Mackey Award.

And Bowers isn't your typical tight end since he's a reliable receiver and blocker, and would be an instant impact player for any team that selects him.

He's widely considered a top-10 draft prospect, so if he makes it in the hands of the Cowboys at No. 24 overall, it would shock many analysts and fans.

But as I said above, it's the NFL draft and anything can happen.

Thankfully, we'll finally find out where Bowers ends up this week when the draft kicks off on Thursday, April 25 at 8 p.m. ET.
