Florida's director of scouting and recruiting relations/NFL liaison, Joe Hamilton, is expected to assume an unspecified personnel role at Texas A&M, sources tell All Gators.

Brandon Howard of Rivals was first to report Hamilton's move.

Hamilton joins former linebackers coach Jay Bateman and defensive line coach Sean Spencer as Florida assistants to join Mike Elko's inaugural staff as head coach of the Aggies.

During his time at UF, Hamilton has proven to be one of the most notable off-field assistants in the country, orchestrating a pipeline of sorts from the Lone Star State to the University of Florida since his arrival in Gainesville.

The Gators have reeled in five pledges from Texas-based talent during the Billy Napier era, with Hamilton being a named asset in the decision for several of the aligning athletes. His ties in the area played a notable role in UF's ability to secure 2024's top-ranked quarterback prospect DJ Lagway

As a result, the Lewisville, Texas, native and Texas Southern alumni's return to his home state to join the Aggies leaves a considerable void in Florida's talent acquisition department in the region.

Hamilton's worked alongside Napier dating back to 2019 at Louisiana-Lafayette, serving in a quality control role as a player personnel/recruiting assistant, in which his efforts aided the Ragin' Cajuns to post the Sun Belt's No. 1 recruiting class three years in a row.

The highly regarded assistant tailed the head coach in his move to the SEC in 2022 as a personnel analyst. He earned a promotion before the 2023 campaign, holding the title of assistant director of player personnel and pro liaison.

He'll now head to Texas A&M, where he'll expectedly assume added responsibility and perks in an off-field recruiting role.

Florida has lost several coaches who began working with the program in Napier's first year this offseason.

Hamilton notably joins assistant defensive line coach Kali James Jr. (Jackson State) as key pieces of Napier's support staff to pursue upgraded responsibilities elsewhere before the 2024 campaign.
