Indiana Player Invited to 2024 NFL Scouting Combine
Rich Janzaruk/Herald-Times / USA TODAY NETWORK

The 2024 NFL Scouting Combine is just a couple of days away and there is one Indiana player invited. The Hoosier who can participate this year is Aaron Casey, a linebacker. The Scouting Combine gives coaches, GMs, and other scouts a chance to observe and get to know these former college football players one more time. Here is a look at Casey’s collegiate career, and what his current draft stock is.

Aaron Casey: Indiana Player

Casey’s first season with Indiana was in 2018, though he did not play. According to Indiana University Athletics, Casey became just the 12th linebacker in the school’s history to earn first-team All-Big Ten honors. In his five seasons with the Hoosiers, Casey totaled 240 combined tackles, 156 solo, and 36 tackles for loss, according to Sports Reference. He also earned ten sacks, 6.5 of them coming from the 2023 season. This demonstrates Casey’s ability to constantly grow as a player. He also forced five fumbles in two seasons. Casey is a strong player, and it makes sense why he is receiving an invitation to the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine.

Draft Stock

As of now, pre-NFL Combine, Casey’s draft projection is pretty late in the draft. NFL Mock Data Base predicts Casey will go as an undrafted free agent. If this happens, he will likely be a high priority. There are a decent amount of linebackers in this year’s draft class, making it harder for Casey. He is still a solid player who continues to get better each year. There is a chance that the Combine can increase Casey’s draft stock. Even if he does drop, he can be developed into an NFL player. Indiana fans should still watch for him to be named on the final day of the draft.

This former Indiana player will get another chance to show NFL scouts why they should draft him. The 2024 NFL Scouting Combine will take place from February 27th until March 4th. The 2024 NFL Draft will take place from April 25th until April 27th.
