The Victory Formation:
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are almost back to the mountain top. They are one win away from their first National Title since 1988, but even though most coaches are convinced that the University of College Football belong at #1 heading into their match-up against Alabama, one definitely does not, and that is James Franklin of Vanderbilt. I've never hated Notre Dame, and definitely haven't ever loved them...
Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly says the top-ranked Fighting Irish are focusing on themselves, not their opponent in the BCS championship game Jan. 7.
Kelly says the Irish (12-0) have been doing conditioning work, weightlifting and school work. Practices begin again on Friday and Saturday. Kelly says the early practices will focus on younger players and fundamentals and will focus...
Manti Te'o wins the 2012 Butkus Award, for college football at least. Jaylon Smith won the high school version.

Notre Dame is making a push to become a defensive powerhouse for a long, long time.
