Jamie Wood announced last Wednesday on Twitter that he is officially Texas A&M’s new assistant athletic director of NIL.

“From the Buckeye state to the Lone Star state, I’m excited to head west to Texas A&M and help make a lasting impact in their department as Assistant AD of NIL,” Wood wrote in a tweet.

The former assistant director of compliance at Ohio State is the first to take on this brand new role for the Aggies. This move is a way for Texas A&M to strengthen its NIL presence.

An Ohio native, Wood was a two-year letter-winner in football before injuries ended his career. Wood had been part of the compliance staff at Ohio State since 2016.

“Leaving the nest for the first time brings up all kinds of emotions, but I’m ready,” Wood added.

In the first year following the passage of NIL legislation, Texas A&M reportedly brought in over $4 million in NIL money during the 2021-2022 school year. That number has only grown, with the football program leading the way.
