Florida State wide receiver Johnny Wilson exited Saturday's game against Virginia Tech with an apparent injury following a tackle early in the third quarter.

After the game, Florida State head coach Mike Norvell said he did not have a detailed update as to the nature or severity of Wilson's injury.

"We'll see what that looks like as we move into this week," Norvell said.

Wilson fell down on the field after being sandwiched between two defenders on the Seminoles' initial play from scrimmage in the second half, shortly after making a 13-yard reception from quarterback Jordan Travis.

Wilson was aided off the field by members of the Florida State training staff and escorted to the team's medical tent on the sideline for further evaluation. From there, he went to the Seminoles' locker room two minutes into the third quarter.

Seminoles tailback Trey Benson scored on the next play after Wilson's injury, running for a 62-yard touchdown that gave FSU a 29-17 advantage.

Prior to the issue, Wilson caught four passes for 54 yards and scored two touchdowns, his first scoring grabs of the season.

A year ago, Wilson had 43 receptions for 897 yards and five touchdowns for the Seminoles, who went 10-3 overall.

Florida State, ranked No. 5 in this week's AP top 25 rankings, improved to 5-0 on the season after defeating Virginia Tech, 39-17. FSU hosts Syracuse next week.
