Florida State wide receiver Johnny Wilson will not play in Saturday's game against Syracuse as he recovers from an injury sustained last week, according to reports.

Wilson left the Seminoles' game against Virginia Tech a week ago with an apparent lower body injury, and although head coach Mike Norvell didn't go into any details on the ailment, he did say it will not be a long-term issue.

Wilson fell down on the field after being sandwiched between two defenders on the Seminoles' initial play from scrimmage in the second half last week, shortly after making a 13-yard reception from quarterback Jordan Travis.

Wilson was aided off the field by members of the Florida State training staff and escorted to the team's medical tent on the sideline for further evaluation. From there, he went to the Seminoles' locker room two minutes into the third quarter.

Seminoles tailback Trey Benson scored on the next play after Wilson's injury, running for a 62-yard touchdown that gave FSU a 29-17 advantage.

Florida State went on to defeat the Hokies in a 39-17 decision, moving to 5-0 overall and tied for 1st in the ACC standings alongside undefeated Louisville.

Prior to the injury, Wilson caught four passes for 54 yards and scored two touchdowns, his first scoring grabs of the season.

A year ago, Wilson had 43 receptions for 897 yards and five touchdowns for the Seminoles, who went 10-3 overall.
