Kentucky Briefing: Reed Sheppard listed as Dick Vitale's Diaper Dandy of the Week
© Jordan Prather-USA TODAY Sports

Reed Sheppard played excellent basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats this week despite the 1-1 record.

His efforts on the hardwood earned Sheppard SEC Freshman of the Week honors, but one thing I can tell you is he just earned a better award.

World-famous commentator Dick Vitale put out his awards for the week, and Sheppard won the "Diaper Dandy" of the week award. Diaper Dandy is, of course, the term Vitale uses to refer to freshmen, so basically, Sheppard was Vitale's freshman of the week.

Sheppard scored 20+ points in both games this past week for the Cats and continued to shoot the ball well from deep.

Sheppard also has helped on the boards and continues to dish out assists. The hot start Sheppard has had to his college basketball career has been incredible to watch.

If this team goes on a deep run, Sheppard will forever be a legend in the Bluegrass State.
