The All-Big Ten teams were announced on Monday night and several Wolverines were among them. Taylor Lewan received the Rimington-Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year award and Will Hagerup got the Eddleman-Fields Punter of the Year award. No other school in the conference had more than two individual players win awards, though Ohio State, Penn State, and Wisconsin also had two each. Lewan and Patrick Omameh were named to the First Team by the coaches, while the coaches named Craig Roh and Jordan Kovacs to the Second Team. The media had Lewan and Hagerup First Team and Jake Ryan Second Team. These teams are always gimmicky in that outside of the obvious, the coaches and media tend to differ vastly. The coaches thought Omameh was deserving of First Team honors while the media merely had him Honorable Mention. While Hagerup was named the Big Ten’s best punter, he wasn’t even on the first or second team by the coaches. The full list of individual awards winners and All-Big Ten teams are listed below. Five other individual trophy winners will be announced on Tuesday. Michigan Football recruiting updates: Gareon Conley decommits

Mike McCray II tackles fellow Michigan commit Jaron Dukes Michigan Football recruiting update: As has been expected for quite some time, Gareon Conley has decommitted from Michigan. This isn’t a surprise and by no means does it cripple the Wolverines 2013 class. Here are some tidbits on Michigan commits: Linebacker commit Mike McCray II was named Ohio’s Division II Defensive...

Michigan falls in Columbus, loses 26-21

The Michigan Wolverines had an opportunity to beat the Ohio State Buckeyes for the second consecutive year but couldn’t get it done. The Wolverines had a halftime 21-20 lead but unfortunately in the second half the conservative play-calling and missed opportunities along with some defense that was less than stellar allowed the Buckeyes to dominate the half and earn a 26-21 victory...

Even after a loss, we're still Michigan!

The bad news is our offense stalled in the 2nd half in Columbus and we lost a 26-21 contest with Ohio State that we could have won, should have won.  Could have and should have are phrases more suited to humans than to Wolverines.  What did happen happened.  What “could have happened” and “should have happened” did not happen and it never will happen because the game is...

MMQ still doesn’t know what Borges was thinking

It has been already been said by a number of people, so I won’t spend a lot of time on this. Something about losing to Ohio State doesn’t make me real interested in talking Michigan football. But I suppose it’s necessary to some degree, so here we go. In my opinion, the Michigan coaching staff’s record against OSU is as follows: Brady Hoke and everyone except Al Borges: 1...

Michigan's Hoke expects Gardner to get 5th season

Michigan coach Brady Hoke says he expects junior Devin Gardner to get a fifth year of eligibility. Hoke says documentation for Gardner's medical-redshirt request is being sent to the Big Ten. Gardner started the last four games of the regular season at quarterback. He was limited to three games as a freshman at least in part because of a back injury. If a medical hardship is...
