The college football world continues to learn the ways of NIL deals. For LSU Tigers star defensive playmaker, Harold Perkins he just inked a new NIL deal with one of the USA's favorite soda brands.
Dr. Pepper may use a color closer to crimson for their cans, but they have some strong ties to the purple and gold now.
According to On3, the star defender for the Tigers has a deal with Dr. Pepper. The connection also has a tuition program involved, which is a very thought decision from Perkins.
"Through the combination of the deals, Perkins is launching his own tuition program. Two $5,000 awards will be given out, with one winner in New Orleans and another in Baton Rouge. Tuition recipients will be eligible high school senior football players chosen by media partners in the designated market." -- On3.com

Perkins, in a new role on defense, has been impressive to start this season. He looks healthy, and his athleticism jumps off the screen when he makes big plays. You can tell that the defensive staff's confidence and trust in him has grown on a weekly basis.

Perkins has accumulated 20 tackles, two tackles for loss and two pass breakups so far this season for the Tigers defense. His pressure on quarterbacks has also affected some plays, even if they don't show up on the stat sheet quite as often. He continues to provide versatility for the unit amid some injuries in their front seven.
Expect even more to come this season from Perkins.
