LSU WR Kyren Lacy Returning to Baton Rouge for Senior Season
USA TODAY Sports

LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy will return to Baton Rouge for his senior season, he told reports on Monday afternoon.

Lacy, who controlled WR3 duties during the 2023 season behind both Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr., has the chance to take over as the lead out for the Tigers next season.

It was a rollercoaster season for Lacy this fall, but after hitting his stride late, he showcased significant improvement. The Louisiana native ended the season with 463 yards and seven touchdowns.

It's no secret the LSU offensive was on a different level during the 2023 season. With a pair of 1,000 yard receivers in Nabers and Thomas, Lacy served as a valuable third option in the receiving game.

Now, after sitting behind a pair of LSU greats, Lacy has an opportunity to elevate his status as the go-to receiver for this program next season.

Heading into bowl preparation against Wisconsin, all three wideouts in Nabers, Thomas and Lacy will be available. The only player opting out of the Jan. 1 showcase will be LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels as he shifts focus to 2024 NFL Draft preparation.

Daniels told reporters he will travel with the program to support his teammates against the Badgers.

Offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock, who inked an extension this offseason, looks to keep the LSU offense rolling heading into the 2024 season.

The Bayou Bengals' passing attack quickly became one of the top options in all of college football. The No. 1 overall offense in America, led by Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels, took the country by storm.

The LSU offense featured the nation’s leader in receiving yards in Malik Nabers and the top two touchdown producers at wide receiver in Brian Thomas (15) along with Nabers (14).

Now, Lacy has an opportunity to take that next step this offseason and showcase his game as the Tigers' WR1 in 2024.
