McNabb and Brown
They are both unhappy with there contracts. I for one would like to see us step up and give Brown the money he deserves(as well as McNabb). But there could be some good coming out of this no matter which way it goes, Sheldon is one of the top CB's in the NFL, he only allowed like 2 passing TD's all last year( I read it somewhere right after the NFC championship game).. Im sorry but playing like that should make us responsible for giving him a new contract. The good part is that Brown's a class act and will move on if hes resigned and hold no grudges. Now the worst case scenerio is that we have to trade him, which I pray doesnt happen, but if we must trade him we could get some value out of it. I think he could be traded for a first round pick, the Jags have a pretty bad secondary, the Browns could use him, and even the Pat's could use a player of Browns quality. Now if a trade happens we must hope that Hanson can hold his own, he was a solid tackler who got his man down most of the time, he has decent cover skills, and he works hard(it makes me think that we have him that big contract for more than a 3rd CB..) also Ike would have to come up big, I dont think we have any corners behind that, and Asante doesnt count here hes starting already, but if Reid feels Hanson and Ike can get the job done then maybe trades Brown......
Now McNabb is a little bit more tricky. I dont think this whole contract thing is so much for the money right now, I think hes trying to see how commited we are to him. Thats why he is refusing to sign the extension if we dont get more playmakers, or upgrades to the offence. Also he may be trying to see if they are more commited to him than Kolb who is his heir apparent. But once again these things find a way to turn for the worst. At best McNabb signs his contract and we all move on with the best choice to win now, enough said. Now the bad, if he feels we didnt do enough to build a supporting cast around him then we may have to trade him, he is most definatly worth a 1st round pick and then some, a good thing here would be the browns 1st+Edwards for McNabb(just for sh*ts and gigs)... this would eventually work out in the long run only if the Eagles have confidence in Kolb, we would need a good supporting cast around him which is something were getting right now. The o-line could be the best in the league, the defence makes plays and turnovers and is one of the top in the league, and Westy is a weapon who could help any QB, so if the absolute worst case scenerio happens then Kolb could be helped with a very good o-line, defence, and RB, not to mention DeSean Jackson is a stud and Curtis is solid......
So what Im trying to get across is that not all is lost in either situation whether for the good or the bad..
