Michigan Football has 14 commitments in their 2014 recruiting class. Space is becoming limited and the final few spots are probably being reserved while some of the nation’s Top 10 prospects sort things out. What do 4 of the top 5 players in ESPN’s rankings have in common? The Michigan Difference. ESPN’s Top 5 1. Leonard Fournette, RB: is considering Michigan and wants to visit this fall. 2. Jabrill Peppers, CB: The nation’s #2 ranked player has committed to Michigan. 3. Andrew Brown, DT: No Michigan interest, is committed to Virginia. 4. Da’Shawn Hand, DE: Has Michigan in his top 3 and will take an official visit this fall. 5. Adoree Jackson, CB: Has Michigan in his top 10 and hopes to visit this summer. Da’Shawn Hand He was one of the defensive standouts at The Opening and is considered the #1 ranked player in the country by rivals. Hand has narrowed down his list to three schools; Michigan, Alabama and LSU. He has gone on record saying how much he loves Michigan’s coaching staff and the Wolverines are believed to be the team to beat for his services. Among Michigan’s 14 commits, is 5-star cornerback Jabrill Peppers, he recently told rivals.com that he is working to get Hand to join him in Ann Arbor. ”A great defensive end makes a great corner, and vice versa,” Peppers told rivals. ”We could help each other out tremendously, that’s the main thing I’m trying to stress to him. I cover the guys, you get your sacks. You rush the throws, you help us (the defensive backs). That’s the main thing I’m stressing.” Hand is slated to take an official visit to Michigan for the Notre Dame game. Adoree Jackson Adoree Jackson 5-star cornerback Adoree Jackson has Michigan in his top 10. It might be hard to pull him away from the west coast, but he is originally from Illinois and recently told espn, that Michigan has a great shot to land his services. “I talk to the coaches a lot and I have a great relationship with them,” Jackson said. “I’d say they have a great shot.” Jackson hopes to visit Michigan sometime this summer. Here’s what Tom Luginbill had to say about Jackson after watching him dominate at The Opening. He is a blanket on the perimeter, and if you were a QB in this event and threw his direction, you had better be on point as there was a high likelihood Jackson’s hand might be on the football. Jackson is a fast and explosive athlete, if Michigan were able to line him up opposite of Jabrill Peppers, they would have a dynamic pair of cornerbacks. This is a fact that isn’t lost on Jackson. Adoree' and Jabrill On The Field That's A Scary Sight @JabrillPeppers — SWEET PEA (@AdoreeKnows) May 31, 2013 Leonard Fournette It is generally assumed that Alabama and LSU are the teams to beat in running back Leonard Fournette’s recruitment. However, he says that’s not true and would like to visit Michigan this fall. He is ranked #1 overall by ESPN. News and notes Malik McDowell remains one of Michigan’s top targets and will now be playing his senior season at Southfield High School, where he will play on the same defensive line as Michigan commit Lawrence Marshall. Two Michigan targets recently committed to other schools. Jamarco Jones picked Ohio State and Artavis Scott is going to Clemson. Michigan already has two commitments in their 2015 recruiting class; Jon Runyan Jr and Andrew David.
