Michigan Football recruiting: The Wolverines 2013 class is ranked #1 by scout.com, #4 by rivals.com, and #6 by ESPNU. Michigan’s 213 class consists of 24 commits (see the full list below).
Michigan commits have been piling up the post season honors and are flooding the rosters of the various All-American games that will be played in the coming weeks.
Here is a list of some of the honors that Michigan’s 2013 class has been racking up:
Defensive tackle Henry Poggi (Baltimore, Maryland) was named to the USA Today All-American team first-team. The 6-foot-4, 250 pound defensive tackle notched 87 tackles, including 31 for loss, and 16.5 sacks.
Offensive tackle Kyle Bosch (Wheaton, Illinois) was named a second-team All-American selection by USA Today
Linebacker Mike McCray II was named Ohio’s Division II Defensive Player of the Year.
Running back De’Veon Smith was named Ohio’s Division II Offensive Player of the Year. He rushed for 1,883 yards and 27 TDs.
Defensive end Taco Charltan was named to Ohio’s first-team All-State squad after racking up 104 tackles and 15 TFLs.
All-American Game Rosters
Michigan commits are saturating the rosters of the various All-American games. Here is a look at which commits will be playing in which games.
US Army All-American Game: Jake Butt, Chris Fox, Jourdan Lewis, Dymonte Thomas
Under Armor All-American Game: Shane Morris, David Dawson, Logan Tuley-Tillman, Mike McCray II, Patrick Kugler, and Henry Poggi.
Semper Fidelis All-American Game: Taco Charltan, Ross Douglas
Recruiting notes
Defensive back and Illinois commit Reon Dawson will visit Michigan on January 11th.
Offensive lineman and Tennessee commit Dan Skipper, who is a massive 6-foot-10, 290 pounds, visited Michigan last weekend.
Linebacker and Wisconsin commit Marcus Ball also visited last weekend.
