Da’Shawn Hand soaking in the atmosphere
Michigan Football hosted a plethora of recruits for the epic Notre Dame game on Saturday night. Among them was the nation’s top-ranked recruit, Da’Shawn Hand (Woodbridge, Virginia). ”It was amazing and crazy,” Hand told rivals.com. “It was cool to be a part of history with the largest crowd in history. They had chants saying ‘We want Da’Shawn!’ It was wild.”
Hand was also blown away by the show that was put on before the game and during halftime. “I thought Beyonce was going to come out. I thought this is crazy if she does,” he told ESPN. “I’m a dude and I listen to the hardest music ever, but had Beyonce come out I probably would have been singing some Beyonce myself. I would’ve been oh, oh oh’ing in that place.”
Hand got to spend some quality time with Brady Hoke and the coaching staff as well as a long and distinguished list of other recruits, both committed and un-committed, that were on hand for the big game. Hand was one of numerous 5-star recruits in attendance, including two of Michigan’s 2015 commits, running back Damien Harris and wide receiver George Campbell.
Here you can see Da’Shawn Hand reacting to the students as the chanted his name.
Hand will also take official visits to Alabama (Nov. 9) and Florida (Oct. 5) before announcing his commitment on Nov. 14. Michigan is considered the front runner to land the game-changing defender.

Meanwhile, Hand is having a dominating senior season. See the below clip of him tossing an opposing running back around like a rag doll. In addition to his natural position of defensive end, Hand has also been playing on the offensive line for Woodbridge this season.
Michigan already has one of the top-ranked 2014 recruiting classes in the country and a commitment from Hand would only bolster the status of the already impressive class, that includes the country’s #2 ranked player, Jabrill Peppers.
