Da’Shawn Hand soaking in the atmosphere Michigan Football hosted a plethora of recruits for the epic Notre Dame game on Saturday night. Among them was the nation’s top-ranked recruit, Da’Shawn Hand (Woodbridge, Virginia). ”It was amazing and crazy,” Hand told “It was cool to be a part of history with the largest crowd in history. They had chants saying ‘We want Da’Shawn!’ It was wild.” Hand was also blown away by the show that was put on before the game and during halftime. “I thought Beyonce was going to come out. I thought this is crazy if she does,” he told ESPN. “I’m a dude and I listen to the hardest music ever, but had Beyonce come out I probably would have been singing some Beyonce myself. I would’ve been oh, oh oh’ing in that place.” Hand got to spend some quality time with Brady Hoke and the coaching staff as well as a long and distinguished list of other recruits, both committed and un-committed, that were on hand for the big game. Hand was one of numerous 5-star recruits in attendance, including two of Michigan’s 2015 commits, running back Damien Harris and wide receiver George Campbell. Here you can see Da’Shawn Hand reacting to the students as the chanted his name. Hand will also take official visits to Alabama (Nov. 9) and Florida (Oct. 5) before announcing his commitment on Nov. 14. Michigan is considered the front runner to land the game-changing defender. See the below clip of him tossing an opposing running back around like a rag doll. In addition to his natural position of defensive end, Hand has also been playing on the offensive line for Woodbridge this season.   Michigan already has one of the top-ranked 2014 recruiting classes in the country and a commitment from Hand would only bolster the status of the already impressive class, that includes the country’s #2 ranked player, Jabrill Peppers. Michigan vs. Notre Dame: Turn Off The Lights. We’re Done Here.

It will be a long time before Notre Dame and Michigan play in the Big House, if they ever play there again. Michigan’s 41-20 victory was a beat down in terms of the rivalry, which ends next year. No matter what Brian Kelly might want you to believe, Michigan’s manhandling Notre Dame is precisely why Notre Dame needed to cancel the rivalry. After 20 years, Notre Dame is barely...

Brady Hoke calls Akron vs. Michigan "a glazed doughnut game."

Brady Hoke. Is calling the weaker non-conference opponents of BCS powerhouses "cupcakes" on it's way out? Michigan head football coach Brady Hoke decided to skip the "cupcake" reference to the Wolverines' week three opponent Akron, and instead went the Homer Simpson route, possibly referring to the match-up against the Zips as "a glazed doughnut...

Hoke, Wolverines look forward to Akron game

ANN ARBOR -- After a weekend at the carnival, the Michigan football team is ready to get things back to normal. They enjoyed Saturday night's spectacle - a record-setting crowd, a pregame airshow, visits from every available Michigan football legend (and Cazzie Russell) - a night that athletic director Dave Brandon called a "Super Bowl-type show" while talking to the...

Michigan vows to avoid letdown against Akron

Michigan coach Brady Hoke sounds confident his team will avoid a letdown against Akron after beating rival Notre Dame. The Wolverines beat the Fighting Irish 41-30 Saturday night in the second game under the lights at the Big House in front of an NCAA record crowd of 115,109. No. 11 Michigan won't face as tough of a test against the Zips of the Mid-American Conference on Saturday...

Michigan Football vs Akron game preview

The Michigan football team will play host to Akron on Saturday, with a kickoff set for 12:01. Coming off of Michigan’s 400th win at Michigan Stadium against rival Notre Dame, the Wolverines will look to continue their early season success in a game that it should win handily. The non-conference game is the first meeting in the history of the schools. Brady Hoke likes donuts Michigan...

Gallon doesn't let being 'short' hold him back

Jeremy Gallon is easy to lose on a football field. He's officially listed as being 5'8", but that measurement must have been taken while he was standing on a textbook. He's probably 5'6" - a fact that didn't escape Michigan coach Brady Hoke's attention for long. Hoke said that when he took over the program and met Gallon for the first time, his...

Hoke Talks Akron, Updates Injuries

Michigan coach Brady Hoke isn’t fretting over the September heat wave hitting Ann Arbor. Hoke updates the status of tight end A.J. Williams and safety Courtney Avery, running back plan against Akron, and more (VIDEO included).

Big Ten Football: Week 2 rewind

My Record-  11-1 in Week two and 22-2 overall.  My best pick was Illinois beating Cincinnati 30-24 and they actually did 45-17.  My worst was Indiana beating Navy.  As wrapped up as I get in IU’s offense, their defense is three kinds of awful. Michigan State-21 South Florida-6….CORRECT….After two games in the season your defense should not be doubling the scoring output...

Hoke Looking for Improvement in Trenches

Michigan headman Brady Hoke was pleased with teams victory over Notre Dame, but moving forward he wants to see his team become more imposing at the line of scrimmage.

Akron Zips vs. No. 11 Michigan Wolverines: Odds, point spead, over/under and tv info

The No. 11 Michigan Wolverines invite the Akron Zips to The Big House on Saturday hoping to avoid a let down after beating rival Notre Dame last week. Michigan (2-0) is doing a good job of saying that every game matters but the atmosphere against Akron (1-1)  figures to be significantly toned down as it will be a daytime game played against a team from the Mid-American conference...

Local Big Ten Review: Chicken or Not, Notre Dame is now Stuck With Road Loss to Michigan

Prior to last weekend’s big game pitting the Michigan Wolverines against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, there were plenty of allegations thrown around, which oddly involved fowl of all things. Michigan head coach Brady Hoke had accused Notre Dame of being “chicken” for backing out of the annual rivalry. Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly lightly responded, saying that the Michigan...
