Derrick Green (Photo credit: Richmond Times-Dispatch Michigan Football has room for one or two more recruits to join their 2013 class. One of those remaining spots has been reserved for 5-star running back Derrick Green (Richmond, Virginia). The 6-foot, 220 pounder will announce his commitment on Saturday, January 26th at 4pm in a ceremony at the Glen Allen Cultural Arts Center in Richmond. The announcement will be streamed live at Richmond Times-Dispatch’s website. As a senior, Green rushed for 1,285 yards and 20 touchdowns. He seldom played in the second half of games because his Hermitage team was so dominant and often had commanding leads early in the games. Green has reportedly narrowed his choices down to three schools; Auburn, Michigan and Tennessee. As recent as two weeks ago he was on record with Sam Webb stating that Michigan was his favorite. Coaches from all 3 schools have recently completed in-home visits with Green. Green is ranked the #1 running back in the nation by rivals.com and the #8 prospect overall. He was named the Colonial District Offensive Player of the Year. [Ranking Denard Robinson among Michigan Football's all-time greats] If he commits to Michigan, Green would be the second running back in U-M’s 2013 recruiting class, joining Deveon Smith. Below is a look at Michigan’s commitment list.
