Former Michigan football standout Kris Jenkins made the “freaks” list for a reason and he made himself some money at the NFL combine on Thursday.

More and more players are deciding to skip workouts at the NFL combine or they are skipping the combine altogether. Of course, there is no shortage of Michigan football players at the combine, with a league record 18 invited and at least one made himself some serious cash on Thursday.

Kris Jenkins, who passed on the chance to enter the NFL draft following the 2022 season, returned to Michigan football and was vital in the Wolverines 15-0 record. Not only was he dominant on the field, but he’s among the best leaders the Wolverines have ever had.

Jenkins improved his NFL draft stock Thursday

Jenkins is also a physical freak and he flashed that on Thursday too, running the 40-yard dash in 4.91. His 40 time ranked fifth among defensive tackles. He also had a 1.7-second 10-yard split that checked in sixth among the same group.

Jenkins, who is 6-foot-3, 299 pounds, stood out in other drills and earned an RAS score, according to Math Bomb on X, of 9.55 which ranks 74th out of 1,620 defensive tackles from 1987 to 2024.

The second-team All-Big Ten selection, finished his Michigan football career with 113 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery. He’s elite against the run and a better pass rusher than he gets credit for and I would be shocked if he lasted past the second round of the 2024 NFL draft.
