Michigan State football players Will Gholston and Lawrence Thomas were involved in a car accident Wednesday. Gholston, a junior defensive end, has been listed as the 14th overall pick in a recent 2013 NFL mock draft espn.com’s Todd McShay. Thomas is a redshirt freshman linebacker who was a highly-touted recruit. Both are expected to play big roles in the Spartans’ defense who is expected to be ranked among the country’s best.
Both guys are alright, but it sounded like a very nasty accident. The details are sparse except for those provided by Thomas’ Facebook page which were posted on the Red Cedar Message Board:
“God is awesome. Me and @WillGholston was on the road on our way back home for a little break from school and got into a serious car crash. These 2 car were swerving out of control but one of the cars swerved in front of us in the middle lane. As soon as we hit the car, will flipped in the air 3-4 times and landed in a ditch on the side of the road. Many people was telling us we are so glad we walked away from that with any broken bones. We just have a few cuts, bruises, and soreness. But like I said, God is Good!!!”
Thomas and Gholston both tweeted after the wreck:
