Mississippi State QB Will Rogers Reportedly Out For Matchup vs. Arkansas

Mississippi State starting quarterback Will Rogers will not start Saturday against the Arkansas Razorbacks, as was originally reported by ESPN on the morning of the game.

Former Vanderbilt transfer signal-caller Mike Wright will take his place and make his first start for the Bulldogs instead.

Rogers injured his shoulder in the 41-28 win over Western Michigan on Oct. 7. He traveled with the team to Fayetteville, Arkansas and will be present on the sideline, but he will not see any action on the field.

There is no current timetable on Rogers' return. He will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis.

Rogers has started in 38 consecutive games for MSU, dating back to a 24-17 win over Vanderbilt on Nov. 7, 2020. 

He leads the program in career leader in passing yards (11,964) and passing touchdowns (92). The Branson, Mississippi native is also the only quarterback in SEC history with more than 1,000 completions.
