As if the Manti Te'o story couldn't get even any weirder, now Dr. Phil McGraw — who questioned Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, the mastermind behind the Te'o fake girlfriend prank, in his first public interview which will air Thursday and Friday on the "Dr. Phil" show — told NBC that he believes Tuiasosopo genuinely fell in love with the Notre Dame football star during the course of the two-year deception. "Here we have a young man that fell deeply, romantically in love," McGraw told NBC's Mike Tiabbi. "I asked him straight up, 'Was this a romantic relationship with you?' And he says yes. I said, 'Are you then therefore gay?' And he said, 'When you put it that way, yes.' And then he caught himself and said, 'I am confused.'" Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy In the two-part interview with Dr. Phil, Tuiasosopo said Te'o was nothing more than an innocent victim in the Catfish hoax. "I wanted to end it because after everything I had gone through , I finally realized that I just had to move on with my life," Tuiasosopo told McGraw in the interview. McGraw told Taibbi that, after speaking with Tuaisosopo, he believes that Te'o "absolutely, unequivocally" was not involved in the hoax in any way.

  • Wondering what all this overblown publicity about a Notre Dame football player was leading up to!

The liberal media's darling subject of the decade, the gay issue. It is so reminiscent of the old Soviet press whose job was to bend the minds of the general public with constant focus and bombardment on readers of the ruling party propaganda......... even on the sports page!

We are just getting a taste for now!
  • So...this is all part of a "liberal media" conspiracy to...make people think it's ok to make up a fake persona, and deceive thousands of people...if you're gay??? You can't be that idiotic, then again, if you're a conservative...I stand duly corrected. You after all are the people still having difficulty defining exactly what rape is. I actually believe it's an elaborate plot by Democrats to get get even more people to turn away from the Republican party by having party members post ridiculous comments.
  • Absolutely...its conservative behavior, to make everything
a liberal point of view, that conservatives are most liberal
at every opportunity to be liberal with the word liberal.
I hope I'm not being too liberal?
  • Get your self together man! Take your meds. it is not even news, and yes Obama won again!Grow up and deal with it
  • what's that quack dr. phil know anyhow. he doesn't even have a license to practice medicine. he's a dimwit too.

HBO's Lampley feels 'terrible' for those who paid for fight

If you dished out the 100 bucks to watch the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight on pay-per-view — or had the cash lying around for tickets — then at least one person from HBO feels your pain.   HBO boxing commentator Jim Lampley said on “The Rich Eisen Show” on Tuesday that he feels “terrible” for anyone who spent money on the megafight now that we know that Pacquiao...

Has Blake Griffin taken the next step?

Watching Blake Griffin play basketball over the past two games really got me thinking. This was, at least in my opinion, one of the most overrated players in the NBA over the past couple years. Sure Griffin is 6’10” and 251, but too often we saw him get thrown off the low post by smaller, more physical big men. The outside game was surely there, and Griffin has always possessed...

Leading up to the NFL Draft, the question of whether the Buccaneers would select Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota with the No. 1 overall pick was one that was often asked. Last Thursday, Tampa Bay made Winston the choice, leaving Mariota to be available for the Titans, who drafted him second. Many experts and pundits...Read More

Titus Young avoids prison, receives probation

Titus Young will not face prison time for felony assault charges, stemming from his strange, violent behavior in 2013. Instead, the Los Angeles County Superior Court has given him a chance to change his ways, giving him five years probation, rather than lock him up. According to David Leon Moore of USA TODAY Sports, a one-year stay at Crosby Center, an inpatient treatment and therapy...

The NBA needs to leave 'hack-a-whoever' rules alone

There’s conversation going on in NBA circles regarding the intentional fouling of poor free-throw shooters in playoff games. Some of that conversation is going on right here at this site. My colleague Matt Zemek makes the case that allowing “Hack-A-Player” strategies rewards the breaking of the rules and should be eliminated. I disagree on two fronts. First, I am adamantly...
