The Nebraska Football secondary may be gaining a little bit more clarity, with the spring game next Saturday. Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhule indicated that, in his mind, Blye Hill would be the starting corner today, opposite Tommi Hill.

Hill transferred into the Nebraska football program in December, and has been having a strong spring. He measures in at six-foot-three, 185 pounds, and came over from St. Francis. He had 21 tackles and the tackle for a loss last season and six pass breakups and two interceptions on the year as well.

Hill could end up being one of the more underrated transfers of the 2024 recruiting class. Nebraska football has strong secondary players waiting in the wings. However, they needed somebody to make an instant impact. Hill appears to be that guy.

When you watch this film, he has the instincts to be a good cover corner. You can see why Nebraska football recruited him, especially for the type of defensive scheme they have. His aggressiveness, and his ability to come down and make a play should be able to translate well to this unit.

In the meantime, Rhule believes that Hill definitely deserves to be in the starting corner conversation.

I’m excited to see what Hill does next Saturday. That will give Nebraska football fans a better look at what he brings the table. On top of that, the program’s wide receiver depth is extremely deep. Hill has undoubtedly been tested all spring ball, and now fans will get to see what he brings to the table.

So far, the returns on Hill have been very good. The Huskers have done a nice job of finding impact players over the last two classes. Last year, we saw several freshmen as well as transfers play right away. Nebraska football always seems to recruit players with a purpose for their program. Hill undoubtedly has one.
