New Era Pinstripe Bowl West Virginia Mountaineers 7-5 vs Syracuse Orange 7-5 The Pinstripe Bowl will be a snowy one, which with these two offenses should make for a pretty exciting game. West Virginia Mountaineers Overall record: 7 – 5 Conference record: 4 – 5 Finished 8th in the Big 12. West Virginia started the season with 5 straight impressive wins behind early Heisman favorite, quarterback Geno Smith before hitting a wall and losing their next 5 games. Their first season in the Big 12 didn’t finish the way the Mountaineers had hoped after the great start, but they showed that their future in the conference can’t be overlooked. Syracuse Orange Overall record: 7 – 5 Conference record: 5 – 2 Finished 4th in the Big East behind Louisville, Cincinnati, and Rutgers. The Orange had a great season by all means. The Orange were 1 – 6 in the Big East last season, the turn around is impressive. Led by quarterback Ryan Nassib who had 3600 yards and 24 tds, running back Jerome Smith with over 1000 yards, and receiver Alec Lemon who had over 1000 yards, the Orange are looking to upset the Mountaineers and win their 2nd Pinstripe Bowl in 3 years. *** Player Swag: New Era cap and other stuff the committee will not reveal.
