Despite helping lead the Georgia Bulldogs to back-to-back national championships, quarterback Stetson Bennett's name may go uncalled in this month's NFL Draft.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, NFL teams have doubts about Bennett, which has his draft stock plummeting.
"He does some good stuff. But he might go undrafted," an NFC executive told Fowler. "His pre-draft has not been good and there are questions about whether he'll be the pro that you need out of a backup QB."
Even though boatloads of talent surrounded him, Bennett delivered for the Bulldogs, especially during Georgia's undefeated 2022 campaign. Bennett finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting, finishing first in the SEC in passing yards (4,128), second in completions (310) and third in completion percentage (68.1) and touchdowns (27).
Over the past two seasons, Bennett went 28-1 as the starter at Georgia, throwing for 56 touchdowns and only 14 interceptions.
If talent isn't an issue for NFL teams regarding Bennett, his age and stature might be. At 5-foot-10 inches, Bennett is on the small size as far as NFL quarterbacks go. Meanwhile, Bennett will be 26 in October and is already older than a handful of signal-callers in the NFL.
Stetson Bennett is older than five of the starting quarterbacks who led their teams to the NFL playoffs this season. Jalen Hurts, Brock Purdy, Justin Herbert, Trevor Lawrence and Tua Tagovailoa are all younger than the 25-year-old Bennett.

Bennett also suffered a self-inflicted hit to his draft stock earlier this year after being arrested for public intoxication in January. The former Georgia standout later apologized, calling it a "mistake that everybody's aware of."
While plenty of question marks surround Bennett ahead of the NFL Draft on April 27, recent mock drafts suggest he could go in the later rounds.
