North Carolina State had a great season in the ACC finishing third in the conference. They would like to make a push for the conference in 2024 and they landed a huge player to help them. The Wolfpack were heavily favored to land McCall according to the Vegas odds. The program gets a proven veteran quarterback who has amassed a lot of stats during his time with the Chanticleers. In his career, he has 10,005 passing yards, 88 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions along with 18 touchdowns on the ground. According to sources, he liked NC State for a couple of reasons. First, he is from the area and wanted to play out his final year near home. Second, he likes how he fits in the offensive scheme. He is hoping to be the final piece for the Wolfpack.
The 2024 outlook looks a lot better with McCall under center. A veteran quarterback means an early matchup versus Tennessee looks a little less daunting. While the Wolfpack have to play Clemson in the regular season, they avoid Florida State and Louisville in the regular season. While many of the other ACC teams are improving rapidly, this is a good draw for NC State.
Can North Carolina State take the ACC in 2024? Getting McCall is a huge step and could attract some more talent to the program.
