Ohio State Buckeyes Set For Huge Visit With 5-Star Recruit
Adam Cairns/Columbus Dispatch / USA TODAY NETWORK

Criticism has surrounded the Ohio State Buckeyes’ recent offensive tackle recruiting efforts, notably as they missed out on securing a top 20 On3 Industry ranked offensive tackle in both the 2023 and 2024 classes.

However, the tides may be turning with the Buckeyes’ promising start to their 2025 recruiting class. A significant development includes the commitment of Carter Lowe, an offensive tackle ranked 38th overall and sixth among offensive tackles in the class.

In addition to Lowe’s commitment, Ohio State has extended offers to 11 other offensive tackles for the 2025 class, among them being David Sanders.

Hailing from Providence Day High School in North Carolina, Sanders stands at an imposing 6-foot-5.5 and weighs 275 pounds. Garnering five-star ratings across all major recruiting platforms, Sanders holds the distinction of being the second-ranked player according to On3 Industry rankings.

Sanders’ recruitment has captured the attention of numerous college football programs, with Ohio State positioning itself as a significant contender. Sanders is scheduled to visit the Buckeyes on Saturday, March 30, underlining his status as a top priority for Ohio State’s recruiting efforts.

While the Ohio State Buckeyes appear to be a legitimate suitor for Sanders, there are other teams involved as well. Among those teams are the Clemson Tigers, who many view as the front-runner to land the star offensive lineman.

All that can be done at this point in time is to wait and see what Sanders ends up deciding. Fans will be on the edge of their seats to see if Ohio State can get something done with Sanders.
