Ohio State lands commitments from massive four-star offensive linemen twins

Devontae Armstrong and Deontae Armstrong are twins. As such, does it surprise anyone that the massive offensive lineman recruits decided to commit to the same school?

It's also no shock that the four-stars from Lakewood, Ohio, (St. Edward) have decided to stay in-state. They're going to be playing college football for Ohio State. They made the decision official after a Sunday visit to Columbus—their fourth or fifth trip to campus as recruits.

"The coaching staff really made it clear to us that anything that our family and I wanted to see whether it be academics or football, then they would provide those things for us to see on this visit," Devontae told Hayes Fawcett of On3. "Each time we visited Ohio State they were consistent in welcoming us each time and getting all of our questions answered."

“What stood out to me is how much like a family it already felt there, knowing all the coaches, the staff, the players,” Deontae said. “Getting to meet coach Frye’s wife and kids, and his family meeting mine. It all just felt like home.”

The coach Frye that Deontae is referring to is OSU offensive line coach Justin Frye, who was the twin's primary recruiter.

To say that landing the Armstrong twins is a big win for Frye, head coach Ryan Day and the Buckeyes is an understatement.

Deontae is a 6-foot-7, 285-pound offensive tackle recruit. Per the 247Sports Composite, he's the No. 25-ranked offensive tackle recruit in the 2024 class. At 6-foot-5, 288 pounds, Devontae is considered a likely guard at the college level, and the 247Sports Composite conspires him to be the No. 23 interior offensive lineman recruit nationally.

Notably, OSU landed the twins over Michigan, Georgia, and Penn State.
