Oklahoma in Contention for Nation's Top 2025 Tailback

According to On3's Hayes Fawcett, Berry is down to LSU, Texas, USC, Florida and OU. The star running back from Metairie, LA, is the one of the top 25 players and the No. 1 tailback in the country per 247Sports' composite rankings. 

Listed at 6-foot and 175 pounds, Berry is a speedy playmaker who is already rated a 5-star prospect in the upcoming recruiting cycle.

Berry's top five continues an impressive stretch on the recruiting trail from Sooners' running back coach DeMarco Murray. Murray earned a commitment from Taylor Tatum, the No. 1 running back in the 2024 class, and Jonathan Hatton Jr., the No. 5 halfback in the 2026 class.

The St. Martin's Episcopal School (LA) standout received an offer from the Sooners in January of 2023, and has been one of Murray's highest priorities in the 2025 cycle. 

With 4-star quarterback Kevin Sperry and 4-star receivers Elijah Thomas, Gracen Harris and Jaden Nickens already pledged to Oklahoma in the 2025 class, adding Berry would give Jeff Lebby and company one of the best skill position groups in the upcoming recruiting cycle.

At the moment, it appears the the Sooners' coaching staff has work to do, however, as LSU supposedly leads in Berry's recruitment.
