Oklahoma State quarterback J. W. Walsh is out for the rest of the season after injuring his knee against Iowa State this past weekend.
Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy said Walsh finished the game with the injury and was able to play through the pain.
‘He finished the game. He ran, made throws. I’m speaking a little bit out of turn because it wasn’t an injury that progressively got worse. It just happened and then he was able to play with the pain.
Walsh has been playing for the injured Wes Lunt who started the season as the Cowboys number 1 quarterback, but was injured against Louisiana-Lafayette. It was rumored that Lunt could possibly have made a return a couple of weeks ago, but he hasn’t yet.
Gundy once again said that Lunt could possibly start next weekend, this time against TCU, but that he “hasn’t figured that out yet”.
