Pat McAfee has become a social media and TV star since retiring from the NFL in 2017.

As you're probably well aware, McAfee's show recently migrated over to ESPN and as part of his deal with the worldwide leader in sports, he makes appearances on various shows throughout the week and is a part of the College Gameday crew.

Unfortunately, McAfee isn't for everybody and he recently admitted that after seeing a poll conducted by Chris Vannini of The Athletic which showed that 48.9% of voters were not a fan of the former West Virginia star on the GameDay show.

“To the 49%, I have some great news,” McAfee said in a post on X. “I have heard you all very loud and clear since the beginning of my stint on GameDay. It’s one of the biggest reasons why I have not re-signed a contract with the legendary show. I’m not right for some crowds and the ‘distinguished’ College Football folks are definitely one of those. Excited to enjoy the rest of this year, that’s shaping up to be a GREAT one, and then see what the future holds. It’s been an absolute blast and an honor to be at that desk and to work with the fine folks of that family… it’s also been really fun to work 7 days a week for the last 2 football seasons."

For those who didn't watch McAfee's show prior to his partnership with ESPN, his exuberance may be a little too much for some to handle. It's not the traditional talking head that sits there and tries his hardest to be as professional as possible and has zero emotion. He's passionate about what he does and has fun doing it.

Personally, I think his presence breathes more life into the show and it helps get the crowd on hand really into it. People don't like change and drastic change at that. It'll take some time, but if McAfee sticks around the show beyond this season, I have a feeling those numbers will look differently.
