Penn State Depth Piece Announces Future Plans

Potts, a Williamsport, Pennsylvania, native, came to Penn State after four seasons at Minnesota.

In what will be his lone season in Happy Valley, Potts finished with 155 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries. That doesn’t sound like much, but Potts did give Penn State a solid, veteran option behind featured backs Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen, something it didn’t have in 2022 before Potts got there.

In a statement posted to Instagram, Potts thanked the “coaches, staff and amazing fans at Penn State.”

“Thank you for giving a kid from Williamsport, Pennsylvania, the opportunity to wear the blue and white and fulfill his dream of becoming a Nittany Lion. The memories and experiences will forever hold a special place in my heart.”

“I also want to thank and express my gratitude to the University of Minnesota for four unforgettable years. The memories and relationships made during my time there will be cherished for a lifetime.”

PSU is set to return Singleton and Allen next season, as well as London Montgomery and Cam Wallace, who each redshirted their freshman seasons. Penn State’s will also have four-star Quinton Martin (Belle Vernon) and three-star Corey Smith (Waukesha, Wisconsin) coming into the fold from the Class of 2024.

Penn State’s running game has a bright future ahead of it, and position coach Ja’Juan Seider is sure to be excited.
