Penn State Led By Beau Pribula, Defense Defeats Rutgers 27-6

Kaytron Allen scored two touchdowns as it won a defensive struggle on Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at Beaver Stadium.

After a Penn State three and out to start the game, Rutgers got on the board first on a Jai Patel 35-yard field goal that capped off a 14-play, 61-yard drive that featured an 11-yard run by Gavin Winsatt, and a 16-yard reception from WinSAT to JaQuae Jackson.

Rutgers let Penn State 3-0 after the first quarter.

As the second quarter commenced, Penn State marched down the field and scored on a two-yard touchdown by Kaytron Allen that capped off a 15-play, 75-yard drive.

Penn State forced a fumble on Rutgers’s next drive when Wimsatt fumbled an exchange to his running back recovered by Dani Dennis-Sutton which led to a 21-yard field goal by Alex Felkins.

After forcing a Nicholas singleton fumble, Patel kicked a 21-yard field goal to end the first half to cap off a six-play 49-yard drive.

Penn State led Rutgers 10-6 at halftime.

After a Rutgers three and out to start the second half, Penn State turned the ball over on downs in the red zone after Beau Pribula did not convert on a quarterback sneak. Pribula came into the game after Drew Allar got knocked out of the game.

After forcing another three and out Penn State took advantage of its field position and connected on a 46-yard field goal by Felkins.

Penn State led 13-6 at the end of the third quarter.

On the next possession a Dennis-Sutton sack-fumble, Allen scored his second touchdown of the game with a three-yard touchdown that capped off a five-play, 42-yard drive which highlighted a 21-yard run by Allen.

As Rutgers were driving down the field on its next possession, Kevin Winston Jr. recorded an interception to effectively seal the game for Penn State.

Pribula capped off the scoring with a one-yard touchdown run that capped off a eight-play, yard drive that featured a 12-yard run by Singleton. and a 15-yard run by Pribula.

OF NOTE: Rutgers has failed to score more than 10 points in conference games against Penn State.

Penn State will face Michigan State at Ford Field on Friday evening, while Rutgers will host Maryland next Saturday.
