It’s hard to believe, but this week marks the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy wreaking havoc on the east coast of the United States, causing over $65 billion in damage – much of which was confined to the New Jersey shoreline. To show that the state is still #JerseyStrong, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights will be donning new “Sandy Relief” helmets this Saturday against Temple. Rutgers coach Kyle Flood released the news this morning: #SandyRelief Jersey Strong pic.twitter.com/xzsOA2583k — Kyle Flood (@KyleFloodRU) October 28, 2013 The new lid combines the famous Rutgers “R” with an outline of New Jersey. It’s also got the “weathered” look – though we’re not sure whether that’s intentional or not. Either way, it’s a nice addition to their lineup.
