Portal Fact or Fiction: Taylen Green to Arkansas, Colorado's OL, Kyle McCord to Nebraska
USA TODAY Sports

In today’s Fact or Fiction — transfer portal edition — I look at three big recent topics from the transfer portal and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. Taylen Green is the answer at Arkansas.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

Sam Pittman needs Bobby Petrino to find his Lamar Jackson to save the day in Arkansas, and it needs to happen in one year. And this version of Taylen Green is not it. As a freshman at Boise State, he was dynamic as a dual-threat who showed a lot of promise, but he regressed this season, and his decision-making is a big question mark. Can he cut down on interceptions? Can he be a dynamic running threat again? Maybe. But this isn’t the splash Arkansas needed.

2. Deion’s OL haul is the answer.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

Coach Prime has landed four solid offensive linemen from the portal led by Tyler Johnson, and they are plug-and-play guys, but let’s be real. Guys from Houston, UConn, Indiana, and UTEP aren’t going to immediately make a bad unit good again. Maybe Deion can add in some current players, or perhaps Jordan Seaton as a 5-star recruit can impact immediately, but excitement needs to be tempered here as the portal is not the solution for the OL immediately, and we learned that last year.

3. Kyle McCord lands at Nebraska.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Even with Dylan Raiola rumored to commit to the Huskers as an unheard-of 5 star QB commit to Lincoln, I think McCord lands there as well. Matt Rhule is an Eastern PA guy and has a good reputation in that region, and that’s where McCord comes from. Nebraska is a step down from Ohio State, and that could be good for McCord, who might have been over his head in Columbus.
