Photo: PrincetonTigersFootball.com When you think of innovation in college football the first school you think of is probably not Princeton. But after going 2-18 in his first two years, Bob Surace (now in his fourth year) is doing some interesting things and it's paying off as the Tigers have started off 7-1 this season and are 5-0 in the Ivy League. Yesterday, a video started circulating showing a package of plays that Princeton used in their 53-20 victory over Cornell where Princeton lines up with three QBs on the field at the same time. Here is the video (h/t Aaron Aloysius).... It's a very intriguing idea that obviously depends on the QBs in question being athletes that are able to run, catch and throw. The Tigers line up in different formations with the QBs in the game and with the use of motion there is a lot of deception that can go on with the football.  In the Cornell game, Quinn Epperly scored a total of six TDs (three throwing and three rushing) and posted a very impressive 32 of 35 passing stat line and set an FCS record by completing his first 29 pass attempts. He also caught one pass for seven yards. One of the other QBs, Kedric Bostic, had one completion, 35 yards rushing and also caught two passes.  Princeton is definitely a team to keep an eye on in the FCS. Football is a copy-cat sport and it will be interesting to see where this idea pops up next.
