Jabrill Peppers (Photo credit: maxpreps.com) Michigan Football recruiting target, Jabrill Peppers (Paramus, New Jersey) will announce his commitment on Sunday (5/26) at 4:30pm on ESPNU. Peppers is a 5-star recruit and ranked #2 overall by rivals.com and espn. He has reportedly narrowed down his list to four schools; LSU, Michigan, Penn State and Stanford. The 6-foot-1, 210 pound, Peppers is a rare talent, a once-in-a-decade type player, who can help change the face of a program. He can have a lasting impact the same way Charles Woodson has at Michigan. In fact, Peppers has made it known that he wants to be better than Woodson. This comment was passed along to Woodson during a recent radio appearance on WTKA. “I love it man, you gotta have that,” said Michigan’s last Heisman Trophy winner. Asa a junior, Peppers rushed for 1,552 yards on 172 carries (9.02 ypc) with 18 touchdowns. He caught 20 passes for another 337 yards and five more tocuhdowns. On defense, Peppers notched 70 tackles and three interceptions. Peppers is also a track standout. Just last week he was credited with setting the New Jersey state record with a 20.79 in the 200 meter dash. That was later wiped away by a technicality. Peppers also runs a 10.2 100 meter dash, which is good enough to qualify for the olympics. Perhaps an underrated aspect of his recruitment, is the fact that Peppers is a talented musician and Michigan has a great music program, one that has helped spawn the legend of JDK and Rey. 2014 Commitment List Here is a list of Michigan’s current 2014 commits, 8 of who are ranked in the ESPNU 150.
