Shhhhhhhhh… Hear that? It’s the the sound of highly regarded Georgia linebacker Alec Ogletree’s draft stock plummeting…
Pat Dye Jr., Ogletree’s agent, gave the details to NBC’s Pro Football Talk: “After the officers smelled alcohol, they conducted tests and also cited him for DUI,” he said. “Although Alec regrets this incident terribly, he is thankful that there was no accident and that no one was hurt. Because this matter is still pending, we cannot comment further publicly at this time.”
This isn’t Olgletree’s first run-in with the law. In 2010, he was arrested for theft and had to sit out his very first college game, and 2012 saw him suspended for 4 games after positive drug tests.
Olgetree’s latest draft projection before the arrest had him being selected 19th overall by the Cincinnati Bengals. After this latest news, he’s likely on the Detroit Lions’ radar.
