Many people probably believe there will be a significant drop off with Saraland (Ala.) High School's wide receiver talent.

After all, the Alabama Sportswriter Association's two-time Mr. Football Ryan Williams is getting ready to enroll at the University of Alabama. The elite wide receiver recruit is a significant reason why Saraland won the 2022 6A State Title and came in as runner-up in 2023.

According to Saraland quarterback KJ Lacey, a top 2025 prospect Auburn would love to flip from his Texas commitment, Williams possesses special talent.

"The first thing is the feel he has for football," Lacey said of Williams. "He knows how to get opened and where he needs to be depending on how he’s being played or where the open space is on the field."

According to Max Preps, Williams came up with 72 receptions, 1,324 yards, an 18.4 average, and 19 touchdowns this past season. A tremendous amount of production is leaving the Spartans with Williams being gone. There's still proven talent returning, according to Lacey.

"We had six Division I wide receivers this year, four of them were seniors." The first two receivers whom Lacey refers to are certainly proven.

From the class of 2025, Dillon Alfred's stock is rising. A top-notch performance during the Under Armour Orlando Camp helps solidify his Rivals 4-star ranking. Specifically, Alfred's ability to make contested catches, mix up his moves off the line of scrimmage, and showcase his open-field speed will help him continue to climb the recruiting rankings and gain more offers from college football programs.

So far, some of Alfred's offers include Auburn, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Missouri, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Houston, Penn State, and UCF.

Auburn has seen Alfred visit the Plains on several occasions. The Tigers could be tough to beat for his services.

Another 2025 receiver to watch is Carson "CD" Gill. A slot receiver, Gill is arguably as hard to stay in front of as any returning prospect in the state of Alabama. He's coming off a junior campaign with 48 receptions, 708 yards, and 4 touchdowns.

Gill's production is not going unnoticed. Marshall, Memphis, UCF, Georgia Tech, and Western Michigan are some of his offers to date.

There's also the talent that's likely to turn heads this fall that some people do not know about, per Lacey. "So now, AJ, Shawn, and Carter are going to step up this year." Here are the three players that Lacey is referencing.

There's also another speedy receiver that's hard to tackle in tight quarters. AJ Martin is an all-around player with the ability to make defenders miss in space. The 2025 receiver is going to see a lot of passes come his way this next season.

There's DeShawn Spencer who can play running back or at receiver. The 2025 recruit is coming off of 561 yards, 9.5 yards per carry, and 6 touchdowns on the ground, plus 7 receptions and 91 yards through the air this past season. Then there's the upstart coming to the varsity roster. Kentucky, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Liberty, and other programs are already hoping to gain Spencer's commitment.

Carter Davis is a player that Alabama high school football fans will be hearing a lot about during the next three seasons. He's an electric athlete from the class of 2027 who is already tearing it up on the 7v7 circuit for Gulf Shores Athletics. Just remember his name.

All the young men above are recruits to know. Saraland is losing Williams but will have plenty of talented pass catchers for Lacey to throw the football to.
