Todd Sauerbrun was cut today by the Denver Broncos, the day he was suppose to return from a 4-game suspension for using the dietary supplement ephedra, which is a banned substance by the NFL. I find it hilarious that a punter was taking a dietary substance, I mean c'mon seriously you are a kicker does it matter all that much? I think Mike Shanahan put it best by saying "He's the only guy on the team which I don't care if he's fat. I don't care if he's 30 pounds overweight. All you've got to do is punt the ball. Kick it into the end zone." To everyone that has Sauerbrun as a punter on your fantasy team you should drop him if you even had him in the first place. I'm playing around, I don't think I have ever seen a league that has punters. But maybe they should?

Great quote by Shanahan and a good one by John Clayton...."The steroid suspension angered Shanahan. Those on Shanahan's bad side don't stay around long in Denver." Apparently, this saves the Broncos a ton of money as well. I wonder why Sauerbrun wasn't cut when the suspension came down. Was it insurance in case they couldn't find a quality punter or does the players association have anything to do with it? Are you not allowed to be cut if suspended?

Good John Clayton quote. My guess is that he couldn't be cut while he was suspended, probably some players association rule to protect the player or something. The insurance idea is also good theory.
