The Kentucky Wildcats (4-5, 1-4) travel to Nashville to face off with the Vanderbilt Commodores (4-5, 1-5) in a battle to keep bowl hopes alive. The Wildcats who recently earned their first SEC victory over Ole Miss last week have an offense that has been reinvigorated since the emergence of true freshmen quarterback Maxwell Smith.

Disappointed that his team started slowly against Transylvania in its first exhibition game, Kentucky coach John Calipari challenged the Wildcats to play with more urgency the next time they took the floor.

Alex Poythress, the nineteenth ranked player in the 2012 class, has committed to the University of Kentucky and John Calipari today. Poythress, a 6'8", 215 pound forward out of Clarksville, Tennessee will join Archie Goodwin and Willie Cauely as fall commits for Kentucky.
This commitment will likely push the UK class into the top 5 nationally.
University of Kentucky senior punter Ryan Tydlacka and senior safety/linebacker Winston Guy have been named game captains for Kentucky's Southeastern Conference contest with Vanderbilt on Saturday at 12:21 p.m. ET inside Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, Tenn.
Several University of Kentucky football players, including tailback Raymond Sanders and wide receiver Matt Roark, returned to the practice fields on Wednesday after sitting out of practice earlier this week because of injuries.
