Shedeur Sanders sends a blunt message to players leaving Colorado: 'You’re not good enough'
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

As many as 27 players—12 before the transfer portal opened and 15 after it opened—have left the Colorado Buffaloes. Although Deion Sanders refused to pay heed to the sudden exodus of his players, his son and quarterback of the Buffaloes, Shedeur Sanders, has a message for the departed players.

Some of the high-profile names who entered the transfer portal only a year after joining the Buffs are Chazz Wallace, Tar’Varish Dawson, Isaiah Jatta, and Cormani McClain. Five-star recruit cornerback McClain spoke out against the culture of the program. According to him, the team prefers playing for clicks, but he wants to win trophies. McClain shared a long YouTube video on his channel dissing the Buffs.

However, Shedeur has complete faith in his father, and head coach Deion Sanders. To him, they are close to creating a championship-worthy team.

He further added through a message on X (formerly Twitter).

Everybody that's in is in, and Everybody that's out been out. Trust me, we Good Regardless. #Legendary Shedeur Sanders wrote on X

It seems things are about to heat up in Colorado.

Shedeur and Shilo Sanders’ hunt for new players continues

When the first batch of players cut ties with the team, the Shedeur and his older brother Shilo Sanders decided to recruit players themselves. They had to get their hands dirty because Coach Prime doesn’t favor scouting players in schools. He prefers the transfer portal. During his first year in Colorado, he brought in more than 60 players using this method.

Shilo wrote on Instagram that any defender looking for a tryout with the Buffs should contact him, and offensive players should reach out to Shedeur.

If you're good, you're going to play. A lot of people talk about favoritism stuff, but I've seen that at other schools that actually might be like that. Shilo Sanders via Denver Sports

According to him, if any player has the skill and attitude to match, they will succeed under Coach Prime. Shedeur added,

Not everybody sees behind the scenes in practice, [and] we know who these guys really are. They might get on Instagram or Twitter or say something, but it's not like you're even doing anything. Shilo added

Coach Sanders, on the other hand, trusts his recruitment team. He believes that Colorado hasn’t lost any player who was or will be a starter for the team.

When a guy's a starter and he transfers, you've got to really think about that. I mean, is he really that? Deion Sanders said last week during a press conference

He further added that several players have kept in touch with him. Some even came for visits, and more are lining out of the door to play for the Buffaloes.
