The son of a former NFL quarterback has committed to UCLA.

Henry Hasselbeck, the son of ex-Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, announced on Wednesday that he has committed to UCLA.

Hasselbeck, a three-star quarterback from Xaverian Brothers in Westwood, Mass., committed to Michigan State over the summer. He later reopened his recruitment and also considered Boston College (where his father was a star quarterback) before deciding on UCLA.

The younger Hasselbeck said the connection he felt with Chip Kelly and the potential to run Kelly’s offense are the primary reasons he chose UCLA.

Hasselbeck also played lacrosse in high school. He committed to Maryland to play lacrosse last year before pivoting back to football.

Matt Hasselbeck played for four teams over the span of his 17-year NFL career. He found most of his success with the Seahawks, earning three trips to the Pro Bowl and leading the franchise to Super Bowl XL.

After his retirement, Matt was named to the Seahawks 35th Anniversary Team and was enshrined in the Seahawks Ring of Honor.
