The spread for the USC vs Syracuse at MetLife Stadium is flirting with four touchdowns. The over/under is around 59, with most USC fans assuming a 59-0 USC victory. No non-biased fan actually believes that Syracuse will win, and out of 100 times USC would probably win 99 times, but that still leaves that one time….

PUMP UP VIDEO

This speech from one of the best sports movies of all-time, “The Little Giants”, is beyond appropriate for my beloved Orange Nation. So what if USC is a significantly better team, and have at least three guys that have the potential to go top ten in the NFL draft, and have been and will be a national powerhouse for decades to come???

All Syracuse needs is this one time.

As impossible as it is for Cuse to beat the Trojans, it’s possible. I mean what if Ryan Nassib throws multiple touchdowns to Alec Lemon and Marcus Sales like Matt Barkley throws to Marqise Lee and Robert Woods. And what if Jerome Smith and Prince-Tyson Gulley dominate the ground like Silas Redd and Curtis McNeil/D.J. Morgan. On defense Cuse needs the defensive line to keep pressure, Marquis Spruill and Dan Vaughan to patrol the middle, and Shamarko Thomas to live up to his potential and own the secondary…and a miracle…or two. Essentially they need to play more than perfect.

There is no question USC is clearly the more talented team, but Syracuse dangerously has nothing to lose, while the Nation of Troy does.

And if USC wins this time, well then maybe next time will be that one time…but then again don’t hold your breath.

(The Little Giants ended up winning that game by the way)
